Butter Fingers !!!!!
These are one of those days when things are just not going right. And i am getting clumsier [:P].
Since yesterday about 10 things have slipped out of my hands.
Here is a list: ( the counts are approx. no. )
*) Few bottles ( includes a coke and a bottle a water ) ------ 4-5 times
*) A small HRC shot glass ( which broke )
*) Ice Tray ---- about 3 times
*) My cell phone --- " 10 " times !!!!!!! ( am about to get rid of my Grandpa style cell soon ... niceee )
*) My Ipod --- 5 times
*) My camera lens ( which survived --- my heart was in mouth for a moment ) ... just once !!
*) And a small keg of milk ....
huh !!!
I am glad i dont play around with laptop, otherwise ......... !!!!!

Where has the " Spirit " gone !!!!
Every morning I watch India's news and read articles @ Rediff.
Rediff is my primary source of info when it comes to interesting articles. Today when i opened Rediff's site i saw a an article which was on a Cuban martial atrs Olympian. He hit the Match referee ( actually kicked him on his face ). The reason was that the referee ruled the match in favor of the Cuban guy's opponent due to something ( the match wasnt over officially ). I dont know who was at fault, but hitting the officials or the opponents is just not in the spirit of the any game. Even if it was the referee's fault, he should have gone and talked to the event chairperson or the olympics commitee.
I do understand that these atheletes get only one shot in 4 years, so things are intence and the pressure of Olympics is in itself is titanic. So its very easy to get carried away and do things like these... but why take matters in your hands and be the " LAW ". Its is quite possible that the Cuban guy wont get to represent his country anymore in any international event. He just did not kick the referee, he also kicked his future Goodbye !!!!!.
What was even more disappointing, was when the Cuban guy hit the referee, the other guy was still rejoicing over his circumstantial victory. He just did not care about what was going on at the other end. He was busy is monkey style dancing.
He didn't even make any attempt to stop the Cuban guy from going any further.

*) Procrastination is in my blood .. ( but i do eventually complete things )
*) I am a ( in Steve Waugh's words ) " Choker " . I do everything right but when it really matters, I put myself down and end up doing things horribly wrong.
*) People hate me even more for what I am.
*) I am like jack of all trades but master of none. ( ask me one thing that i am really good @ : as in expert .... i'll probably give you a blank face )
*) I hate my life .... my luck tries to make up for it, but even that has turned shity recently.
*) I am in a wrong place, doing some thing i shouldn't be !!

Where to ? ..... NYC !!!!...... hmm ok wait for me !!
Yesterday my friend rented a car, i asked him where he was heading to ? He didnt reply but instead asked me to tag along. I had no plans of leaving Syracuse or even my home yesterday evening, but the moment he told me that he was going to NYC for a day.... I was ready in a flash. Packed my bags in 10 min ... and off we were to NYC.
This is my 3rd unplanned visit to NYC.
Well i am in NYC right now so dont have much to write, but here are few interesting things I noticed along the way
1) A 2 mile long traffic jam ... in which were stuck for an hour.
2) we saw weird white circles on the road which we had never seen befor ( they were some kind of traffic signs .. and we had no idea what they ment )
3) for about 2 hrs of journey were surrounded by mist ( it was so dense that calling it a fog wont be wrong ... we couldnt even see the moon or the lamps ... it was that thick ). 22* C it was (70*F) and as far as i know 20*C is not cold enough to create a fog that dense.
4) after we were out of the fogy area, we had a crystal clear sky above .. but even though we could see rain drops on our screen and aournd us. ( this is not that strange .. but good enough )
5) I have never been tailgated by a monster truck. But this was the day it happend.
There was this mad truck driver who was almost driving bumper to bumper with every car that was in front of him. Imagine driving 70-80 miles/hr with the fear of crushed by a gigantic truck.... hahahah.
6)Lastly : We lost the race against our GPS. Our GPS showed the estimated time to reach our destination..... which was 11:06 pm. When i say race againgst our GPS i mean we set up a target time less than what our GPS shows and try to make it within that targeted time.
So we normally dont loose but this time we did..... " shit ". In the end we were off traget by quite a bit... we reached around 11:15 pm.

Why is it so hard .... ?? Just say it !!!
I have no idea why people find it so hard to just step up and ..... say it all something on somebody's face. If you want to admit something, abuse somebody, propose to someone or whatever .. just say it. People just try to express themselves in every possible way they can but they just dont take the easiest way out, which is " blatantly say it on the face " !!!!!! Come on how hard it is ?
I can understand, ya if the person you are talking to is your friend, you may not want to be rude and egregiously blunt ...... but i feel one should speak ones heart out. You may want to keep shut for few days but you must say it when its time.
I have been seeing people around me trying to push me away and i have no clue why they are doing that. And i dont think i did something wrong to earn that kind of an attitude. If feel these people or this one person doesnt want me around. So if that's the case .... just say it .

Have mercy on me ... dear Router !!!!!
My router has nasty sleeping habit. It stops working whenever it wants to, works whenever it wants to. It has mind of it's own ( i wonder ... that is the effect of the Terminator series ).
What irritates me the most is the frequent toggling between its sleep and wake modes. And this happens when i am doing something really important on the net.
Yesterday was one of those that when my router was at its best "worst" behavior. I was cussing it like anything. I restarted it many times, but that didnt help at all.
Well ... i had other ways !!!! it kicked it, slapped it ... and waaallllaaaaahhhhh it stared working.
But what i didnt realize was after all that thrashing, it just had to do something to annoy me even more.
So the time came ..... i was filling up my UK visa forms. Just when i completed it and i was about to make the payment ( and to save the form ) that F********* router stopped working. And for 10 min it remained that way.
As a result all my forms got erased and the UK Visa server logged me out. And above all that my forms we not saved. .... i was so pissed that i felt like ripping it ( router ) apart.
But thats the only router i have .....
So moral of the story is ...... Never ever beat up your router !!!!! ( @least i wont do it )

Questions ????????
( another one of my silly ... time killing posts )
Lately i have been asking people 5 weird Qs. At first i thought that people would say " WTF what kind of silly Q is that .. or dont you have anything better to do? " And i had answers ready for those kind of replies.
But to my surprise....... they all seriously answered my Qs !!!
They were interesting ...
Q1) ( a standard Q ) What all things would you do if somebody told you that you had just 6 more months to live.
Q2) If your competitor or your enemy challenged you to do something you dread the most, would you do it? ............. If not then why ??
Q3) If something or certain situation demands you to leave something or someone that's dearest to you ........ Would you give up ? ( and you know giving up is the only way out ).
Q4) Well all have a dream job and a life that we all want to live. And you will go to any extent to get them both. And if by some miracle you get both of this.... wow !!!. Now somebody offers you to trade this gifted job and life with all the money Bill Gates has ............. Would you accept the money and leave what to desired and respected the most?
Q5) Do you want a long life ( a happy life but a bit boring and bit monotonous, where you have a good job, nice house ... but its the same 24*7 ) or ..... a short one where you do the most amazing things and you get to do things a person could only dream on doing even of he/she get to live for say 100 yrs?
I got some really crazy answers ... and boy i loved those conversations.

Gran Apertura : 2008 Olympics
Today I watched the opening ceremony of the Olympics 2008. And as per me it was by far the most beautiful opening ceremonies ever. I loved the Athens Olympics ceremony and i had he feeling then ( and i guess till today ..b4 i watched the show ) that it was divine. And i guess it still holds its crown for the best Olympic ceremony ever.
But today's show on 08/08/08 stands along side Athens's.
The 2 things that swing the balance on China's side were the fireworks and the way they lit the Olympic torch.
The firework was awesome and absolutely spectacular. And as for the touch thing the concept of the flying man was class apart.

Its been one year here and there were times when i was swamped with work. Yesterday i got a glimpse of whats in store for me for the next few months. This will be a : "Mammoth work load".
And i have no idea how am i gonna keep this up with my on-campus job next semester.
And i hope this doesnt kill my leisure time.

Space, Eclipse, Earth .... Cosmos and Heaven.
Yesterday me and my friend were having a discussion on what we thought of space odysseys. And i wanted to tell her that it could be a beautiful and spell bounding adventure.
Space, Cosmos are synonyms of Heaven. People say earth is beautiful, by god it is !! But imagine how beautiful that thing would be .... that created this planet earth.
I agree space is dangerous but, at the same time its beautiful. You get to see some of the most amazing creations of God. Its one gigantic firework show. Its a place where every single spark, every single flame of fire, every explosion and every collision is a master piece of an art named COSMOS ( aka space ).
I can go on and write pages on this ... but i'll just stop here. The whole purpose of this post was to put up this video of the recent solar eclipse taken from a plane.
I wish i could see a solar eclipse from a plane.. NO WAIT ... from space. For a second imagine the whole picture ... you are in space, in a space shuttle or in a space station and solar eclipse happens. Ohhhhhh !!!! that would be .... DIVINE !!!!!!!!!!
